FVM ~ May 2012

FVM Global is essentially an online fashion magazine based out of Los Angeles.  The current (May 2012) edition features one of my artworks from my series “Romantica”, on the front cover of the magazine, and inside the edition you will find an in-depth interview with myself, together with a gallery of an assortment of my artworks.  The current edition of the magazine can be found HERE.

Perhaps you have never heard of “Squid Who”, because until recently I hadn’t either.  However, one of the followers of my work, who herself is a talented artist, has created an entry for myself, which can be found HERE.  The entries are updated on a regular basis and it’s quite interesting for me to see somebody’s perspective on their presentation of a wide cross-section of my works.

Despite the fact that I hold a contract with the globally renowned nude art magazine ”Met-Art”, I rarely contribute to them.  However in November 2010 (following on from my 2007 cover), my second cover was published, this time entitled “Yangtze”.  A search of my name via the Met-Art website will provide you more information and sample images from the two series in question.

Dating back to November 2011, my work could be found at the 22nd edition of the contemporary art fair “ArtePadova”, held at Padova, Italy.  Shown on the stand of my representing gallery “Galleria Massella” which is located in Verona, Italy.  See relevant documentation hereunder:

Dating back to October 2011, my work was shown in a collective exhibition in Verona, Italy, organised via my representing gallery, Galleria Massella.

Erotic art has a long and distinguished, if controversial, tradition in the history of modern art. Arguably, eroticism in art brings us closer to our humanity, yet there are few genres in the arts that have been as under-represented and unjustly maligned as expressions of what we, in all our rich diversity, find erotic.

Inversion, Perversion ~ the series

A recently created series of artworks, consisting of a mix of negative inversion and solarisation (Sabattier effect) of the digital negative.  ”Inversion, Perversion” is a play of reversal, concealing that revealed, revealing that concealed, white to black and black to white, addressing the perception and conception of erotism within society, along with colour and race.  ”Inversion, Perversion” brings a new perspective to classic erotism, challenging traditions, whilst at the same time using age old traditions within the process of creation and production.

A series of 14 artworks, each available in 5 editions (+ 2 a.p.).  Archival pigment prints, on Hahnemühle Photo Rag (308 g/m^2).. Dry mounted with a 4 cm passe-partout, framed behind glass.  Print size is 80 cm (31.50″) x 60 cm (23.62″).  Signed, dated and numbered verso and issued with artist’s Certificate of Authenticity.

Although I am best known for my work in the art-nude and erotic-nude genres, I retain a passion for landscape, abstract and  architecture images.  Fire in the Sky is a very good example of this passion, a burning sunset against a mysterious landscape, coupled to my now signature style of long exposures and resulting motion blur, giving mysterious illusions.
